FLOODWOOD BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING MINUTES

Board of Education Regular Session December 19, 2022 The Board of Education of Independent School District No. 698 met in regular session with Truth in Taxation presentation on Monday, December 22, 2022 in the media center. Chair Hall called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. A virtual Zoom option was available. Board members present at roll call were: Jaimen Davis, Steve Hall, Tracy Hutchinson, Tanya Johnson, Leanaya Miller, and Corinne Suonvieri. Also present: Superintendent/Principal Jonathan Payne, Business Manager Haley Walsh, and Administrative Assistant Ashley Engh. Pat Goggin and one audience member joined by zoom and were recognized. Truth in Taxation hearing was held, Walsh presented the Levy 2022 payable 2023 and budget publication. The FY22 budget of November 2022 compared to June 2022 was reviewed. Public comment was opened up and addressed. Public comment was then closed. Motion by Suonvieri, seconded by Davis, to approve the agenda. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote. Motion by Hutchinson, seconded by Suonvieri, to certify the proposed $603,350.74 levy and budget publication as presented. The certification may be found in the official school board minute book. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote. Motion by Miller, seconded by Suonvieri, to approve the Consent Agenda including the following agenda items: Minutes of the November 28, 2022 regular meeting and Notes of the November 29, 2022 Community Education Advisory meeting and December 9, 2022 Activities Committee meeting. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote. Ashley Engh Community Ed Coordinator, Frank Bartsch Activities Director, Amanda Fjeld Instructional/Behavioral coach and Superintendent/Principal Jonathan Payne’s reports to the board were reviewed. Motion by Hutchinson, seconded by Miller, to approve resolution establishing combined polling places for multiple precincts and designating hours during which the polling places will remain open for voting for school district elections not held on the date of a statewide election. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote. Motion by Johnson, seconded by Hutchinson to approve the November monthly claims and accounts and Cash Flow report (payroll totaling $180,984.68, AP totaling $80,493.97, Cash Flow dated November 30, 2022) all of which may be found in the official district minute book. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote. Motion by Hutchinson, seconded by Suonvieri, approving schedule C contract for Melanie Pliml, shared Student Council Advisor for the remainder of FY23. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote. The Floodwood School Board would like to thank and recognize Jaimen Davis for his commitment to the Floodwood School Board for his service on the board since 2020. Upcoming meetings were announced. Motion by Hutchinson, seconded by Suonvieri, to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote. Chair Hall declared the meeting adjourned at 6:20 PM.
