Mirage may have set state shot record

The Proctor/Hermantown Mirage easily handled the Broncos from International Falls, and may have set a state record in the process on Tuesday, Feb 2.

 

The final score was 10-0 but it is the shot total that has everyone wondering.  As the Mirage out shot the Broncos a whopping 107 shots to 1.

 

According to the MSHSL web page the previous record for shots in a regulation game was 100 by Henry Sibley in the 2004-05 season.  Sources are checking for most recent information as to whether the website is currently updated and accurate.

 

The Mirage were led by Alyssa Watkins hat rick as well as an assist, Aroura Opsahl 2goals-2 assists, and Ember Kehtel 1g-3a in the win.  Also scoring for the mirage were Izzy Fairchild, Rylee Gilbertson, Hanna Graves, and Mckenzie Gunderson.  Proctor Senior Vivi helquist saved her lone shot for the shutout win.

 

Next up for the Mirage will be Marshall high school Tuesday, February 9 at St. Luke’s Arena in Proctor.
