The 100th South St. Louis County Fair has been canceled.
The centennial celebration with a revamped midway was scheduled for July 29-Aug. 1 in Proctor. The So. St. Louis County Fair Board meet and made the decision to cancel it due to health concerns with large crowds.
“With safety being the primary requirements to operate a successful fair, social distancing requirements, sterilization, and other safety precautions being recommended and/or enforced by federal and state governments to combat COVID-19 it is not possible to successfully operate a county fair in this environment.”
“Thanks also to all fair supporters, vendors, and attendees for everything you have ALL done just by being there with this and through all the years of our fair.”
“So for now stay safe,” the announcement concluded. “Let’s make 2021 So. St. Louis County Fair’s 100th Anniversary one we will remember – “for the Good Times!”
